Level 1: ITIL®4 Foundation:   

The ITIL® Foundation certification presents the ITIL® framework and enables applicants to see IT service management (ITSM) as an end-to-end operating model for the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of technologically enabled goods and services.

Candidates that need a basic grasp of the ITIL framework, desire to utilize ITIL to improve ITSM, or whose business has implemented ITIL can benefit from this certification.  

Level Objectives:

  • ITIL®4 presents a comprehensive picture of IT-enabled service delivery.

Level 2: ITIL®4 Managing Professional  

The ITIL®4 Managing Professional stream teaches practical and technical skills for managing effective IT-enabled services, teams, and workflows.   

Level Objectives:   

The Managing Professional (MP) track teaches students practical and technical skills for managing effective IT-enabled services, teams, and workflows.    

Targeted audience:   

ITIL®4 MP was designed for IT professionals that work in technology and digital teams across organizations.  

This scheme consists of four courses:  

  • ITIL® 4 Specialist: Create, Deliver & Support (CDS)  

ITIL 4 Specialist CDS module covers the 'core' service management tasks and broadens the existing scope of ITIL to include service 'creation.' It focuses on the integration of various value streams and activities to create, produce, and maintain IT-enabled goods and services, as well as supporting techniques, processes, and tools.    

  • ITIL® 4 Specialist: Drive Stakeholder Value (DSV)  

ITIL 4 Specialist DSV module includes all forms of engagement and interaction that a service provider has with its customers, users, suppliers, and partners. It focuses on converting demand into value through IT-enabled services.   

SLA design, multi-supplier management, communication, relationship management, CX and UX design, and customer journey mapping are among the topics covered in this subject.   

  • ITIL® 4 Specialist: High Velocity IT (HVIT)  

This subject investigates how digital organizations and digital operational models operate in high-velocity contexts. This module covers the utilization of Agile and Lean working methods.

As well as technological approaches and technologies such as Cloud, Automation, and Automatic Testing, with an emphasis on the quick delivery of goods and services to maximize value.   

Level 3: ITIL® 4 Strategic Leader  

The ITIL®4 Strategic Leader stream teaches learners how IT impacts and leads business strategy. Obtaining the ITIL®4 ITIL Strategic Leader (ITIL SL) certification shows that the expert understands how IT impacts and leads company strategy.  

Level Objectives:   

This course teaches participants the practical skills required to build a 'learning and improving' IT organization with a strong and successful strategic direction.

The course examines the effect and impact of Agile and Lean approaches to work, as well as how they may be used to an organization's advantage.  

Targeted audience:   

Professionals in IT Service Management, especially managers at all levels and those working in continuous service improvement projects  

This stream relates to two modules:  

  • ITIL 4 Strategic Direct, Plan and Improve (DPI)  

ITIL®4 Strategist Direct Plan and Improve are intended for managers at all levels who are involved in creating direction and strategy or establishing a team that is always improving.  

  • ITIL 4 Leader Digital & IT Strategy (DITS)   

This subject focuses on the integration of digital business and IT strategies. The program also discusses how new technologies are causing disruption in companies across all industries and how business executives can adapt.     

Level 4: ITIL 4 Master:   

The ITIL 4 Master certification demonstrates your professional knowledge of ITIL concepts, methodologies, and strategies in the workplace.  

To achieve ITIL® 4 Master certification, you must be able to explain and justify how you chose and applied a variety of knowledge, principles, methods, and techniques from the ITIL framework and supporting management techniques to achieve desired business outcomes in one or more practical assignments.  

Targeted audience:  

To obtain your ITIL®4 Master level, you must have considerable hands-on experience with ITIL and be able to demonstrate active engagement in practice implementation.    

Level Objectives:   

This certification validates an individual's ability to use ITIL concepts, methodologies, and strategies in the actual world.  

How to Pass ITIL 4 Exam?   

ITIL exam isn’t rocket science, it just needs attention and careful study. Here are some steps on how to pass ITIL® 4 Exam:    

  1. Link the material to your own experience: As you go through the training material, rely on your own and your colleagues' experience to demonstrate how the principles presented in the book may be implemented.   
  2.  If you are taking a paper-based exam, take notes and circle the key terms.  
  3. Be prepared for twists and turns in the questions; ITIL®4 focuses on best practices, but the test focuses on your grasp of the ITIL®4 procedures, not what you have first-hand experience with or what your business does.  
  4. Take copious notes while studying and be familiar with your keywords.  
  5. Remember to include those important terms in your response. Consider CMS or CMDB for configuration items or known error documentation. SLAs, OLAs, and UCs are examples of service-level management.  

ITIL 4 Roles & Responsibilities  

A role is a collection of duties, actions, and authority assigned to an individual or group and specified in a process or function. A single individual or team can wear several hats by taking on numerous tasks, such as incident management and issue management.

ITIL®4 Service Design Roles  

Service Level Manager:   

The Service Level Manager oversees negotiating (and ensuring the fulfillment of) service level agreements, as well as ensuring that IT Service Management procedures, operational level agreements, and underpinning contracts are adequate for the agreed-upon service level goals. In addition, the  

SLM monitors and reports on service levels.  

Service Owner:  

The Service Owner oversees delivering a certain service within the agreed-upon service levels. When negotiating Operational Level Agreements, the owner generally functions as the Service Level Manager's adversary (OLAs). The Service Owner is frequently in charge of a team of technical professionals or an internal support unit.
