PRINCE2 Exam Prerequisites
The PRINCE2 exam prerequisites consist of two levels the foundation and practitioner as listed below in detail.
Foundation:
There are no specific requirements for the PRINCE2 Foundation course.
Practitioner:
You shall complete the Foundation exam before taking the PRINCE2 Practitioner examination. You also must provide proof of having passed one of the following:
- PRINCE2 5th Edition (Foundation or Practitioner)
- PRINCE2 6th Edition (Foundation)
- Project Management Qualification PMQ *
- Project Professional Qualification PPQ*
- Project Management Professional PMP**
- Project Management Professional PMP®**
- Certified Associate in Project Management CAPM**
- IPMA Level A® Certified Projects Director ***
- IPMA Level B® Certified Senior Project Manager ***
- IPMA Level C® Certified Project Manager ***
- IPMA Level D® Certified Project Management Associate.
PRINCE2 Exam Format
The PRINCE2 exam format encompasses the levels; the foundation level and the practitioner one as shown below in detail.
Foundation Level:
The PRINCE2 foundation level will contain the following:
- Exam validity: Lifetime validity.
- Multiple choice questions.
- 60 questions per paper.
- 33 marks required (out of 60 available) to pass: 55%.
- One hour (60 minutes) duration .
- Closed-book exam.
Practitioner Level:
The PRINCE2 practitioner level will contain the following:
- Exam validity: 3 years.
- Objective testing.
- 68 questions per paper.
- 38 marks or more are required to pass (out of 68 available): approximately 55%.
- Two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes (about 2 and a half hours)) duration, no additional reading time.
- Open book. Candidates are permitted to use the official printed hard copy of the Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2® 2017 Edition.
