Academic Integrity Policies and Regulations

In line with the commitment to uphold ethical, scientific, and professional values, Bakkah Training Center consistently endeavors to reinforce them in its training environment by continually emphasizing adherence to the highest standards of academic integrity, whether by trainers, center staff, or trainees. The center assumes responsibility for creating an environment that fosters high levels of academic integrity by establishing standards and controls for the training process that work to achieve academic integrity at all stages, from registering trainees in training programs, during training, to testing and results. The center believes that promoting academic integrity is an essential part of the personal and intellectual growth of trainees, and that increasing awareness among trainees, trainers, and employees of issues related to academic integrity through fostering an atmosphere of trust, honesty, and high ethical standards contributes significantly to the progress and prosperity of society by graduating individuals capable of assuming responsibility for the advancement and dignity of the nation due to their high moral values.

Forms of Violations of Academic Integrity include the following:

  • Cheating: This involves copying others' work and unauthorized use of any information and training materials in academic tests or other tasks assigned to trainees.
  • Plagiarism and Intellectual Theft: This entails using others' work as one's own without acknowledging the original author.
  • Collaborative Exploitation: This refers to a trainee relying on another trainee within their group to complete a task or joint work, or exploiting another trainee to complete individual assignments.
  • Fabrication and Forgery: This involves a trainee altering or fabricating information available to them in an academic test or assignment, or presenting a forged medical certificate to excuse their absence.
  • Receiving any form of assistance in tests, providing information to another trainee, or bringing external documents into the test and obtaining information not previously provided by the test developers.
  • Obtaining or providing unauthorized assistance in exams, or fabricating information to support laboratory results or any other academic work.
  • Impersonation: This involves a trainee assuming someone else's identity inside the classroom, during a test or examination, or in any type of academic assignment. In such cases, both the impersonating trainee and the trainee motivating the impersonation are subject to punishment.
  • Other forms of impersonation: Trainees who sell lectures, notes, papers, or research works during their enrollment in the center, or who accept monetary compensation for work done for others without obtaining prior written approval from the center's management, will be subject to disciplinary actions. Trainees who submit models or applications with falsified information, forged or misleading signatures will also be subject to disciplinary actions and may be required to withdraw from the program without any compensation or appreciation.

Preventing Cheating Measures:

  • Bakkah Training Center relies on a distinctive model to monitor the performance and activities of students through electronic systems using several electronic procedures using specialized global systems and electronic systems developed specifically within the center for this purpose, to work integrally to provide reports on student monitoring.
  • Regulating violations of the approved academic regulations at the center: The management records all available internet network data used by the trainee to access electronic systems, and verifies when a trainee accesses from a location other than the one used before, thus revealing the trainee who resorts to offices to perform activities and duties instead of them.
  • Copy and paste functionality is disabled on the midterm exams portals, and repeated midterm works not based on personal efforts by trainees are examined and necessary action is taken.

Monitoring Trainee's Work and Activities Mechanism:

  • Bakkah Training Center relies on a distinctive method to monitor the performance and activities of trainees on the electronic platform through specialized global systems that work integrally to provide reports on monitoring trainees and control violations of the academic regulations approved at the center as follows:
  • Trainee's access to the electronic platform is monitored, and the complete lecture attendance time is recorded.
  • Permissions for access to the electronic platform are recorded in databases for reference when needed.

Examination Procedures:

  • Pre-Exam:

  - Trainees are allowed to enter the exam reception 30 minutes before the start of the exam, and trainees are not allowed to leave until half the time has elapsed.

  • During the Exam:

  - All trainees are asked to place bags, mobile phones, and any electronic devices at the beginning of the examination hall. If a trainee is caught with a mobile phone, it is considered an attempt to cheat, even if the phone is not used. In case of usage, it is considered a cheating case.

Investigation and Control Procedures for Cheating Incidents:

  • The supervisor requests the trainee to submit the electronic exam and turn off the device.
  • If the trainee refuses to submit, the supervisor contacts the center's supervisor.
  • A cheating incident report form is filled out by answering all questions and is submitted along with the attendance absenteeism signature file to record the trainee's deprivation from the subject.

Reporting Absence-Related Failures:

  • Trainees' access to the educational platform is electronically monitored, and the complete lecture attendance time is recorded. The courses accessed, activities carried out in each course, and the time spent on each activity are monitored.
  • Daily monitoring and recording of attendance and absence are done in direct lectures, content, assignments, exercises, and discussions on the educational platform.
  • Providing a system for querying attendance and absence for trainees through the educational platform.
  • Exceeding the allowable absence rate results in the trainee being deprived of the final exam, which is 25% of the course's study hours.
  • In case of a trainee's absence from the final exam without an acceptable official excuse, they are notified of failure in the subject.

Attendance Policy

Electronic attendance is considered one of the keys to the success of learners in online and distance learning. In this regard, synchronous electronic attendance refers to the virtual presence of the trainee connected to the internet through the e-learning portal or virtual classroom via a computer or mobile device, and confirming whether the trainee is present in real-time.

Key Policies of Electronic Attendance:

  1. Virtual attendance is considered equivalent to traditional attendance in terms of hours calculation, with a minimum requirement of attendance not less than 25% of the total communication hours for the course.
  2. The E-Learning and Simulation Unit is responsible for monitoring, supervising, and tracking student access to e-learning systems and virtual classrooms.
  3. Automatic monitoring and recording of electronic attendance and absence for trainees in training courses through virtual classroom systems.
  4. Automatic monitoring and recording of electronic attendance and absence for trainees in the Learning Management System (LMS) platform.
  5. At the end of the course, an electronic attendance report is sent to the management of Bakkah Training Center. Trainees are required to attend at least 75% of the allocated training hours for the registered course.
  6. In case of trainee absence from attending the course, they forfeit their right to receive the certificate or claim a refund of fees unless they provide an official excuse. Bakkah Training Center reserves the right to accept or reject the excuse.
